Hertha M. Cosby, born August 23, 1920 in Heilshorn, Germany died peacefully in Corpus Christi, Texas on Feb. 1, 2013 at the age of 92.



She met her husband, Audren Cosby, while he was a U.S. Army soldier stationed in Germany following WWII, and she returned to the U.S. with him upon completion of his tour of duty.



After moving to Corpus Christi, Hertha worked at the Mary Carroll High School Cafeteria for 17 years, where she retired as Cafeteria Manager in 1981.

She was active in her church and had the gifts of serving, hospitality and care giving.  Her generous spirit touched many lives.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Audren in 1993 and her faithful dog, Pepper whom she adored.  She will be lovingly remembered by her 4 children Karin Fancher (Bob) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Audrey Lehman (Joel) of Austin, Texas; Marilynn Massey (Don) of Rockwall, Texas; and Raleigh Cosby (Kim) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive her.



The family would like to thank the staff of Clare Bridge at Homewood Residence and Nurses on Wheels for their loving, compassionate care.



Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors.  The Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors.  Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Food Bank of Corpus Christi, 826 Krill St., Corpus Christi, Texas  78408.
